Flight
training is enhanced by the use of the Frasca 142 single engine flight
training device which is configured as a Beech A36 Bonanza and the Frasca
242 FTD which is configured as a Beechcraft Baron.
Instruments and controls simulate the performance
in the aircraft and is highly apparent from engine start-up through taxi,
takeoff, climb, cruise, stalls, descent, and landing.
Simulation features include:
- Control responses varying with airspeed
- Dual visual systems
- Back side of the power curve
- Rate of turn is inversely proportional
to the airspeed for a given bank angle
- Inherent stability and phugoid oscillation
- Engine torque and asymmetric thrust
- Elevator trim moves control neutral point
- Stall speed varies with flaps, bank, and
power
- Fuel burn lower weight
- Ability to simulate all weather conditions
- Feathering the propeller reduces drag
