Frasca Flight Training Devices (FTDs)

Flight training is enhanced by the use of the Frasca 142 single engine flight training device which is configured as a Beech A36 Bonanza and the Frasca 242 FTD which is configured as a Beechcraft Baron.

Instruments and controls simulate the performance in the aircraft and is highly apparent from engine start-up through taxi, takeoff, climb, cruise, stalls, descent, and landing.

Simulation features include:
  • Control responses varying with airspeed
  • Dual visual systems
  • Back side of the power curve
  • Rate of turn is inversely proportional to the airspeed for a given bank angle
  • Inherent stability and phugoid oscillation
  • Engine torque and asymmetric thrust
  • Elevator trim moves control neutral point
  • Stall speed varies with flaps, bank, and power
  • Fuel burn lower weight
  • Ability to simulate all weather conditions
  • Feathering the propeller reduces drag
